About Stacey Potter
Capturing the laughter, cuddles, and everyday magic of motherhood
From holding it all together, to finally being part of it.
Hey, I’m Stacey; professional photographer & mum of two, and the person who spent years planning all the
magic for my family whilst being invisible in my own story.
My phone is filled with photos of my kids’ crazy antics and my husband’s quiet moments with them. Guess how many include me? When it came to printing and hanging our family photos, I realised that I wasn’t just missing from the photos. I was missing from our family's memories. If I’m honest, I had a little cry.
I know that experience, isn’t unique to me as a mum.
I studied photography to change that story… Not just for myself, but for every mum who feels like she has to choose between planning the magic, documenting the magic, and being part of it all.
In the same way I’m not ‘just mum,’ I’m not just a professional photographer. I spent the last thirty years studying and teaching martial arts. Along with my time spent working in disability care, that experience has taught me a level of discipline and empathy that I bring to every session. I’m not just there to "take pictures." I’m there to be a safe pair of hands, to read the room, anticipate the "wobbly" moments before they happen, and ensure every member of your family feels seen and safe.
Sessions with me are designed by a mum, for mums.
I’ve stripped away everything that makes photography stressful. There’s no complicated math with your budget, no bribing kids to "sit still and smile," and no worrying about the chaos. Whether we’re chasing bubbles at the park or cozying up at home, you get to simply spend time with the people you love, doing the things that make you happy, in the places that matter the most to you. I’ll take care of the rest.
Every family belongs in the frame
I believe that every family is unique, and perfect exactly as they are. My background in disability care means that inclusivity isn't just a policy; it’s the heartbeat of my business. Whether your family is neurodiverse, LGBTQIA+, or simply moves to a different rhythm, you will find a safe space here. No judgments, no "standard" expectations… just a celebration of the love that binds you together.
